Our team is composed of Bachelor's and Master's level mental health practitioners, as well as mental health rehabilitation workers who are fluent in the client's language and meet state requirements for mental health experience hours. They are supervised by mental health professionals. Our psychotherapy staff includes Master's and Ph.D. level clinical trainees working towards licensure as Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors, supervised by mental health professionals. We provide continuous training, education, and clinical supervision to foster professional growth.
Dr. Jamal Adam, a seasoned therapist at Horizon Mental and Rehabilitation Services, brings over a decade of counseling experience to his practice. As a personal, academic, and career counselor, he understands the diverse needs of his clients. Dr. Adam is not only a therapist but also a dedicated mental health educator, committed to promoting awareness and innovative treatment approaches.
His therapy approach centers on empathy and respect, offering clients a non-judgmental space for self-exploration. Dr. Adam's compassionate nature and attentive listening foster strong, trusting client-therapist relationships, vital for effective outcomes.
Outside of work, he finds fulfillment in running and traveling, which provide fresh perspectives and renewed energy for his professional endeavors. With his unique blend of clinical expertise, educational insight, and genuine compassion, Dr. Adam is a valuable asset to Horizon Mental and Rehabilitation Services and the wider mental health community.
Christine Harnack, MA, LMFT, boasts 40+ years of experience in program development and clinical supervision across various mental health settings, from outpatient to residential treatment and chemical dependency programs. As the former Director of Volunteers of America of Minnesota's Mental Health Clinics, she collaborated with Somali Youth and Families to create a Children's Therapeutic and Supports Program, offering mental health services and clinical training to Somali Youth and their families.
Since November 2020, Christine has been providing consultation to Horizon Mental and Rehabilitation Services' outpatient program and clinical supervision for psychotherapists. Having retired in 2016 as the Director of Staff and Service Development at Therapeutic Services Agency (TSA), Christine now works as an Independent Contractor, offering consultation, training, and clinical supervision to individuals and agencies.
Anthony Williams is a Mental Health Practitioner at Horizon Mental and Rehabilitation Services in Minneapolis, USA. Currently, he is pursuing his second Master's degree in Public Health Services with a focus on clinical care. His educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Business Management & Accounting (2010) and a Master's degree in Global Business and Management (2021).
Before joining Horizon, Anthony worked as a Residential Counselor at Woods Services in Northeast Pennsylvania, a leading institution in mental and psychological care for individuals, including adolescents and those with physical impairments and mental health challenges. He is passionate about delivering services and is grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Horizon team. To him, there's nothing more rewarding than helping people with limited options, and he believes that in the end, humanity always prevails.
Fardowza Hilowle serves as the Front Office Manager at Horizon. With extensive experience in customer service, this marks her first venture into the field of mental health. In her role at the office, she excels in connecting with clients and ensuring a seamless transition for staff, including software training, client interactions, and insurance coordination to ensure members receive the care they require.
Fardowza plays a pivotal role in fostering a thriving environment at Horizon, where both staff and clients' needs are met. She has a deep commitment to the community and a passion for helping people. Her current educational pursuit at Metropolitan State University is focused on earning a Bachelor's in Social Work, with aspirations to obtain a Master's in Clinical Social Work. This path will enable her to drive positive change in her community and advocate for underserved communities, ensuring their essential needs are met.
Olabisi Akinjare is a trained and certified Mental Health Practitioner, currently serving as the Housing Stabilization Coordinator at Horizon Mental and Rehabilitation Services, located in the heart of Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. She earned her BA (Hons) in Philosophy in her home country before relocating to the United States and enrolling in a Mental Health Certification program while also pursuing a degree in Registered Nursing.
In her current role, Olabisi works with the community, particularly individuals facing housing challenges, struggling with disabilities, and mental health issues. She operates under the supervision of the Housing Stabilization Services Manager, dedicated to assisting clients in securing safe and improved housing in better neighborhoods. Olabisi provides the necessary resources to address their housing-related needs and connects them with additional resources to facilitate a successful transition to a more stable and safer living environment."
